LGO Examination on 4th September, 2011

The next Departmental Examination for promotion of Lower Grade Officials to the cadre of PAs/SAs in subordinate offices will be held on 4th September 2011 according to the revised pattern and syllabus. The time table of the examination is given below:-
Paper No: I
Subject : General English/ Hindi & grammar, Arithmetic & Tabulation (without aid of books)
Day and date : 4.09.2011 (Sunday)
Time: 10.00AM तो 11.00AM

Paper No: II
Subject: Knowledge of Postal/mail Office operations with reference to Post Office Guides (without aid of books)
Day and date : 4.09.2011 (Sunday)
Time: 12 PM to 01.00 PM

02.. All departmental lower grade officials below the grade of PAs/ SAs who are permanent and who have rendered not less than three years of regular satisfactory service in the lower grade as on 29.7.2011 are eligible to appear for the examination

03. The examination is for the vacancies of the year 2011 and will be conducted in all the divisions even if there is no vacancy in a particular Division.

04 Minimum qualifying marks are 40% in each paper for all candidates excluding SC/ST to whom minimum qualifying marks are 33%. The examination will be of objective type Multiple choice questions (MCQ) and with the use of carbonless(duplicate) Optical Mark Reader(OMR) answer sheets.

05. The question paper for the said examination (other than the general English/ Hindi & Grammar, Arithmetic & Tabulation ) will be set within the ambit of the various Postal Manuals which are made available on the India Post web site/various instructions issued by the Department from time to time/ approved reference books notified in the modified syllabus. HOWEVER THE EXAMINATION WILL BE HELD WITHOUT THE AID OF BOOKS.

06. The number of chances for departmental candidates for appearing in the above exam is 8(Eight) only.

The Application form kit will contain application OMR form( Magenta Colour), instruction sheet. Acknowledgement card and envelope for mailing the application for CMC Ltd

If sufficient numbers of candidates do not qualify to take all the vacancies earmarked for lower grade officials (Departmental quota), the resultant unfilled vacancies will be offered first to the Gramin Dak Sevaks of the recruiting divisions/units who possess the requisite qualification and are within the prescribed age limit. The vacancies that still remain unfilled will be taken to the direct recruitment quota as per provisions in the recruitment rules.
